SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald "Duck" Vest of Harvard, who passed away on June 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest was born on December 31, 1956 in Harvard; his parents were Gene A. and June M. (nee Collins) Vest; he married Carol Lynn Reuter on October 26, 1991 in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest was employed at Dean Foods for 26 years and worked as a locksmith since 1991; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest was a volunteer fireman in Harvard for 10 years; he was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard and was a little league baseball coach; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching baseball, football, and pro and college basketball; he also enjoyed playing cards, golf, bowling, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Mickey Vest; 3 uncles, Bobbie, Eddie, and Dale Collins; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Mary Anderson; a brother-in-law, Randy Reuter; and 2 sister-in-laws, Cathy Reuter and Mary Williams; and

WHEREAS, Donald Vest is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Vest; his son, Matthew (Jessica Wiegel) Reuter; his mother, June Vest; 4 sisters, Debbie (Ken) Morris, Ruthann (Bob Camren) Vest, Nancy (David) Vermett, and Barb (Rich) Braun; a brother, Terry McEnenany; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald "Duck" Vest; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Vest as an expression of our sympathy.
