SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Ann Earls, who passed away on April
43, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Earls was born on March 12, 1948 in
6Waukegan, Illinois; her parents were Arthur Lee and Mary
7Elizabeth Bell; she married Aaron Earls, Sr. on April 17, 1976;
8she was blessed with 3 children, Sonja M. Emziah (James),
9Krystal M. Earls, and Aaron Earls, Jr., 4 grandchildren, Ebonee
10N. Emziah, Xaviar J. Emziah, Zachary W. Emziah, and Janae E.
11Jones, and one great-grandchild, Jerimiah W. Emziah; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Earls accepted the Lord at an early age;
13she joined First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church under
14Rev. Jonas Porter; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Earls was a member of Emblem Chapter #140
16Order of the Eastern Stars (Past Worthy Grand Matron), North
17Shore Assembly #59 Order of the Golden Circle (Past Loyal Lady
18Ruler Heroines of Jericho), North Shore Court #73 (Past Most
19Ancient Matron), James E. Anderson #4, Ladies of Circle of
20Perfection, Shawall Court #4 Daughters of Isis (Past
21Illustrious Commandress and Past Imperial Deputy of the Oasis),
22Waukegan Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta - Six Degrees of

1Determination Spring Line 2006, the Waukegan Uptown Lions Club,
2and the Top Ladies of Distinction; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Earls was preceded in death by her loving
4husband, Aaron Earls, Sr.; father, Arthur Lee Bell; mother,
5Mary Elizabeth Bell; and brother, Cecil R. Bell; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Earls is survived by 3 sisters,
7Antoinette F. Graham, Annette A. Glover, and Delores Greenwood
8(Mark); 5 brothers, Arthur C. Bell (Sandra), DeCount Bell, Sr.
9(Brenda), Frederick A. Bell, Michael A. Bell, and James A.
10Bell; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and
11friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Ann Earls; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Mary Ann Earls as an expression of
18our sympathy.
