SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marian Lucille (nee Link) Whitcomb of Beach Park, who passed away on March 10, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Marian Whitcomb was born in Chicago on November 25, 1923 to Willard and Eleanor (nee Reitz) Link; she married Walter Whitcomb, Jr. in Berwyn on August 10, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Marian Whitcomb was a member of Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church in Gurnee and enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlepoint, and ceramics; she especially loved tending to her family; and

WHEREAS, Marian Whitcomb was preceded in death by her grandson, Sean, and by her brother, Bill Link; and

WHEREAS, Marian Whitcomb is survived by her husband, Walter Whitcomb; sons, Clyde (Tammy) Whitcomb and Craig (Donna) Whitcomb; daughter, Catherine (Frank) Castaneda; 9 grandchildren, Brad, Dana, Maritt, Jason, Jeff, Ryan, Steven, Scott, and Peter; and 6 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marian Lucille Whitcomb, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marian Whitcomb as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
