SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carol Sue Hamm of Madison, who passed
4away on April 12, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Hamm was born in Granite City on March 14,
61950 to Charlotte E. (nee Werner) and Joseph W. Nonn; she
7married John W. Hamm, III on March 23, 1968 at St. Mary's
8Catholic Church in Madison; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Carol Hamm was the owner and operator of Hamm's
10Landscaping in Madison and served many years as the President
11of the Madison School Board; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Carol Hamm was a devoted member of St. Mary's
13Catholic Church, a proud supporter of Democrats United, and had
14been very active with the Madison Sports Booster Club; she
15enjoyed motorcycle riding, ziplining, and reading; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carol Hamm was preceded in death by her father,
17and by a brother, Gerald Nonn; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Carol Hamm is survived by her husband of 46 years,
19John; her mother; her 5 children, John W. (Karen Allison) Hamm
20IV, Dawn Hamm, Joseph (Sherry) Hamm, Angela (Christopher)

1Burns, and Beth (William) Wachtel; 8 grandchildren, Alexandra
2Hamm, John W. Hamm V, Austin Skoklo, Ellie Hamm, Cameron Burns,
3August Wachtel, Madison Wachtel, and Taylor Burns; 2
4brothers-in-law, Ronald Lee (Ava) Hamm and Garry (Diane) Hamm;
5and other extended family and many friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
8Carol Sue Hamm, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Carol Hamm as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
