SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward T. Winn of Richmond, who passed away on March 2, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Edward Winn was born Janesville, Wisconsin on May 15, 1927 to Benjamin and Hazel (nee Turner) Winn; he graduated from Richmond-Burton High School in 1945 and married Erma Kobs on June 18, 1950 in Algonquin; and

WHEREAS, Edward Winn was a life-time farmer in the Richmond area and also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Thelen's Sand and Gravel for 29 years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Winn was a member of the Community Church of Richmond, the Pure Milk Association, Spring Grove Softball, the Spring Grove School Board, the State Line Motorcycle Riders, the Woodshed Whirlers Square Dancers, Community Clover, and he was a Gophers 4-H leader; and

WHEREAS, Edward Winn was preceded in death by his parents; his second mom, Emily Winn; his grandson, Aaron Bychowski; and by his brother-in-law, Lyle LaPoint; and

WHEREAS, Edward Winn is survived by his wife, Erma; his daughters, Barbara (Robert) Howe, Marjorie (Michael) Jones, Denise (James) Bower, and Susan (Jeffrey) Bychowski; his sons, Keith (Debra) Winn and David Winn; his 12 grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Edith LaPoint and Diana (Raymond) Bauer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward T. Winn, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Winn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
