SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
230 ILCS 40/27

    Amends the Video Gaming Act. Provides that any municipality and any county board, for the unincorporated area of the county, shall have the power by ordinance to determine the number of licenses to be issued to licensed establishments, licensed fraternal establishments, licensed veterans establishments, and licensed truck stop establishments located within the municipality or unincorporated area of the county; however, the number of licenses issued shall not be lower than the number of liquor licenses and the number of licensed truck stop establishments allowed in the municipality or unincorporated area of the county on the date that an ordinance limiting the number of licensed establishments, licensed fraternal establishments, licensed veterans establishments, and licensed truck stop establishments is enacted. Further provides that the municipality or county board shall inform the Board of such an ordinance within 30 days after its enactment. Effective January 1, 2015.

1    AN ACT concerning gaming.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Video Gaming Act is amended by changing
5Section 27 as follows:
 
6    (230 ILCS 40/27)
7    Sec. 27. Prohibition of video gaming by political
8subdivision. A municipality may pass an ordinance prohibiting
9video gaming within the corporate limits of the municipality. A
10county board may, for the unincorporated area of the county,
11pass an ordinance prohibiting video gaming within the
12unincorporated area of the county. Any municipality and any
13county board, for the unincorporated area of the county, shall
14have the power by ordinance to determine the number of licenses
15to be issued to licensed establishments, licensed fraternal
16establishments, licensed veterans establishments, and licensed
17truck stop establishments located within the borders of the
18municipality or unincorporated area of the county; however, the
19number of licenses issued to licensed establishments, licensed
20fraternal establishments, licensed veterans establishments,
21and licensed truck stop establishments shall not be lower than
22the number of liquor licenses issued or otherwise allowed by
23ordinance and the number of licensed truck stop establishments

1in the municipality or unincorporated area of the county on the
2date that an ordinance limiting the number of licenses is
3enacted. The municipality or county board shall inform the
4Board of such an ordinance within 30 days after its enactment.

6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
