HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Hickory Hills Police Department Officer Scott Sodaro on his heroic acts that saved the life of Cosette Ordway; and

WHEREAS, Officer Scott Sodaro's efforts on January 21, 2014 contributed to the locating of 2 individuals, a male adult and his 2-year-old daughter, who were reported as "Missing/Endangered"; and

WHEREAS, Information acquired from AT&T during the search regarding the location of the cell phone belonging to the male adult, along with coordinating response efforts with the West Des Moines Police Department, resulted in Cosette being found and rescued; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Charles Hobart, Officer Mark Benaitis, and dispatcher Rocco Marciano all contributed to the search and rescue of Cosette; and

WHEREAS, Although injured, Cosette recovered and acts and appears like any other 2-year-old girl; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Hickory Hills Police Department Officer Scott Sodaro on his heroic acts that saved the life of little Cosette; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Officer Scott Sodaro as an expression of our esteem and respect.
