HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carver James of Dakota High School on winning the Illinois High School Association Class 1A 152-pound State wrestling championship; and

WHEREAS, Carver James compiled a season record of 45 wins and 1 loss on his way to his 2nd State championship; and

WHEREAS, Carver James wrestles for 11 months of the year, and because of his success in the sport, he has had the opportunity to travel all over the country; he has been a member of several all-State Illinois dual teams that have competed in Indiana, Michigan, Virginia, and other states; and

WHEREAS, In addition to being a successful wrestler, Carver James is an outstanding student; he maintains a 3.5 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society; he has been on the student council since the 7th grade; and

WHEREAS, Carver James still finds time to work and the past 2 summers has worked at Springbrook Cheese, and plans on doing so again this summer; and

WHEREAS, In his free time, Carver James enjoys attending area county fair concerts, usually seeing 8 to 9 concerts a year; he spends what time he has left updating his Twitter account, which he hopes to see reach 2,000 followers by the time school lets out; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carver James of Dakota High School on winning the Illinois High School Association Class 1A 152-pound State wrestling championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carver James as an expression of our esteem and respect.
