HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, In recent fiscal years, appropriations to various agencies and groups have been closely examined for their efficiency; and

WHEREAS, Questions remain regarding the efficiency of certain programs; and

WHEREAS, State institutions of higher education are competing for every dollar available through the performance-based funding matrix; and

WHEREAS, Community colleges and universities in Illinois other than Chicago State University have financial aid assistance available to students, which is funded from within their regular appropriations; at Chicago State University, students can receive financial aid assistance through the Financial Assistance Outreach Center; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Auditor General is directed to conduct a performance audit of the State moneys provided by or through Chicago State University to the Financial Assistance Outreach Center in Fiscal Year 2013 and Fiscal Year 2014; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Financial Assistance Outreach Center, Chicago State University, and any other State agency or entity that may have information relevant to this audit cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor General's Office in conducting of its audit; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as soon as practical and report his findings and recommendations upon completion in accordance with the provisions of Section 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be delivered to the Auditor General.
