HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Otis Wilson Charitable Association on its work in the local community and wish the Association success with its upcoming celebration; and

WHEREAS, The Otis Wilson Charitable Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Chicago; its mission is to build a community of physically fit, healthy, and literate families through education and literacy programming that focuses on the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices that will continue throughout life; and

WHEREAS, Its 55 Alive program is an after school and summer camp curriculum focusing on educational development, physical fitness, and nutrition; the program helps children ages 6 to 13 and provides a safe place for them to learn and play; as part of both the Governor's Council of Physical Fitness and Mayor Emmanuel's Fitness Council, the organization has been granted access to Park District facilities throughout Chicago; and

WHEREAS, The 2014 Otis Wilson Charitable Association's Big Game Celebration & Benefit Event will take place Super Bowl Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Chicago at the Castle nightclub; it will include founder, Otis Wilson and former 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears' players; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Otis Wilson Charitable Association on its work in the local community, and wish the Association success in its upcoming celebration event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Otis Wilson Charitable Association as an expression of our esteem and respect.
