HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Rockford Rescue Mission on the occasion of its 50th anniversary of serving the Rockford community; and

WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission opened its doors in 1964 and has been dedicated to helping the homeless and needy around the community ever since; and

WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission has provided 58,767 nights of lodging, 164,455 meals, 159,355 miscellaneous items, 10,019 counseling sessions, and 2,684 Hope Clinic patient visits to those in need; and

WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission works to serve the community with integrity and excellence; the mission rejoices in lives changed by God and instills core values, such as living for the glory of God, and respecting human dignity, which has helped Rockford Rescue Mission become a staple when it comes to helping those in need; and

WHEREAS, Over the last 50 years, the Rockford Rescue Mission has proved true to its mission statement, which has allowed the Rescue Mission to be open for so many years and provide countless people with the help they need when they fall on tough times; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Rockford Rescue Mission on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and wish the mission's volunteers continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Rockford Rescue Mission as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
