1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Laura Leon of
4 Chicago on her retirement from the Illinois Comprehensive
5 Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Board; and

6     WHEREAS, Laura Leon was appointed to the Board on May 1,
7 2008 and served until June 13, 2013; she served on the
8 Underwriting and Carrier Oversight Committee; and

9     WHEREAS, Laura Leon is the Director of Faith Initiatives,
10 Campaign for Better Healthcare and is the former Acting
11 Director of the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition;
12 she worked with Illinois Covering Kids and Families for 8 years
13 to help increase AllKids enrollment; and

14     WHEREAS, Laura Leon has a long social justice and urban
15 development background; she worked for the National Training
16 and Information Center and Habitat for Humanity; and

17     WHEREAS, Laura Leon received her Bachelors of Arts from
18 Northeastern Illinois University in 2007; therefore, be it

19     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Laura Leon on her retirement from the Illinois
2 Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board and wish her the best
3 in all her future endeavors; and be it further

4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Laura Leon as an expression of our esteem and
6 respect.
