HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Cheri Sisson on the occasion of her retirement as the executive director of the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce and Industry on January 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson has been the executive director since 2008, and is only the second director in the organizations's history; and

WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson came to her position as executive director from the highly competitive hospitality industry; she was an award-winning Director of Sales and Business Travel manager and joined the organization at a time when many similar organizations were dissolving amid the economic recession; and

WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson brought to the organization a sense of urgency to drive customers to member businesses while many members were scrambling to save their businesses during the worst economy since the Great Depression; she brought vital information to her membership about financing opportunities, electronic marketing, and changes to legislation that might affect their industry; and

WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson has been a strong fiduciary for the organization, maintaining membership and reinventing every annual event; she has provided leadership, mentorship, and guidance for those within the organization; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Cheri Sisson on her retirement as the executive director of the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce, and wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Cheri Sisson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
