HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Gary F. Siebert of Eldorado, who passed away on August 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gary Siebert was born on May 3, 1943, to Foster and Delores (nee Cripe) Siebert; he received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and his Education Specialist's and Education Administration Degrees from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston; he married Dicy Dillard on March 10, 1990; and

WHEREAS, Gary Siebert served a total of 47 years in the education field; he worked as Eldorado's School Superintendent for 27 years and for Galatia's School System for 8 years; he also worked as an instructor for many years at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg and Frontier Community College in Fairfield; he was working towards his Doctorate at Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Gary Siebert served on the Saline County Board for the past 15 years; he also was on the Police Pension Board and was a member of the Eldorado Rotary Club for 27 years, the Eldorado Son's of the American Legion Post #169, the Eldorado Men's Club, the Galatia Masonic Lodge #684 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, the Saline County Sheriff's Association, as well as being a long-standing member and former President of the Saline County Chamber of Commerce; he was also the former President of the Wabash and Ohio Valley Special Education District Board; and

WHEREAS, Gary Siebert was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Gary Siebert is survived by his wife, Dicy; his daughter, Amy (T.J.) Zurliene; his son, Gary Siebert, Jr.; his brother, Danny (Lena) Siebert; his son/grandson, Gabriel Siebert; his son, Stephen Siebert; his stepchildren, Sherry (Jim) Williams, Kevin Stricklin, Donna (Tim) Stotlar, and Lia Milstead; his grandchildren, Loxton Zurliene, Maisee Siebert, Jeremy Williams, Tiffany (Phil) Nyberg, Jennifer (Frankie) Bourland, Greg Stricklin, Scott (Stormy) Stricklin, Anthony Stotlar, Jon Stotlar, Brista (Justin) Barrington, Brittany (Kreig) Taylor, Brandy Questelle (Michael Riden), Sarah Siebert, Justin Siebert, and Stephen Siebert, Jr.; and several great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary F. Siebert, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Siebert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
