HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Daniel Skiroock of Schaumburg on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Skiroock is a 17-year old junior at Schaumburg High School; he plans to attend college and study engineering, in the hope that he will design products that will help others; he and his father plan to tour the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and the Crazy Horse Memorial before returning to Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Skiroock has been in Scouting for 11 years; recently, he was working on earning his Eagle Scout rank and needed a worthy cause for his project; he contacted Connie Kaltenbach, principal of Batesland School, in the fall of 2012; Ms. Kaltenbach told him that they had a new school and a new library, which required many books to fill it; and

WHEREAS, Hearing of the needs at Batesland School, Daniel Skiroock decided to collect as many books as he could for his project, which he chose because of his love of reading and books; he was able to acquire a total of 6,527 books by enlisting the help of other Scout families, friends, and other libraries; as a gesture of appreciation for his work, he was thanked by all of the families at the new school library; and

WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon Daniel Skiroock by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor ceremony on August 31, 2013; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate congratulate Daniel Skiroock on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Daniel Skiroock as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
