HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Myron
4"My-My" Colvin of Chicago, brother of former State
5Representative Marlow H. Colvin, who passed away on July 16,
62013; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Myron Colvin was born in Chicago on April 20,
81967, to Mose and Catherine Colvin; he attended Lindblom Math
9and Science Academy and DePaul University; he married LaShon
10De'Fell on December 29, 2006; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Myron Colvin worked within several Cook County
12administrative offices for many years and, most recently, he
13was employed by Northwest University; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Myron Colvin had a passion for the arts,
15especially music; he wrote short stories, plays, and kept a
16journal throughout his life; he enjoyed drawing, photo editing,
17and scrap-booking; he will be remembered as a man who had a
18heart of gold with bold courage; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Myron Colvin was preceded in death by his parents;
20and

1    WHEREAS, Myron Colvin is survived by his children, Morgan,
2Destinee, Deja, and Johnny; his sisters, Sharon (Keith) Maul,
3Karon (Ernest) Hamilton, and Kimberly Colvin; his brothers,
4former State Representative Marlow (Carmen) Colvin and Milton
5(Kimberly) Colvin; his nieces and nephews, Christopher,
6Whitney, Kimberly, Michael, Miles, and Mason; his
7great-nephew, Mathew Colvin; his aunts, Laura Price, Katie
8Garrett, and Hortense Stinson; his uncle, Harrison Dejornett;
9and a host of cousins and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn the passing of Myron "My-My" Colvin, and extend our
13sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
14and loved him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Myron Colvin as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
