HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the tragic death of
4one of its own citizens who dedicated their life to serving
5this great country; and
 
6    WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Corporal Brandon David
7Meyers of Plainfield passed away on June 28, 2013; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers, known to his loved ones as
9"Bubba", graduated from Plainfield Central High School in 2006;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers enlisted in the United States
12Marine Corps right after graduating from high school; after
13completing basic training, he served the country he loved by
14completing two tours in Iraq; and
 
15    WHEREAS, When Cpl. Brandon Meyers returned home in November
16of 2010, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spent countless
17hours working on cars with his father; he was also restoring
18his 1968 Chevelle; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers is survived by his devoted
20parents, David and Wendy Meyers; his loving sister, Tiffany

1Meyers; his grandparents, George and Shirley Ketchmark; and his
2many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers was a true friend and a man
4that was proud of who he was, who he became, and of the years he
5spent serving his country; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Cpl. Brandon Meyers' patriotism and courage will
7be remembered by his loving family, his friends, and the
8citizens of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
12United States Marine Corps Corporal Brandon D. Meyers; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Cpl. Brandon Meyers as an expression
16of our sincere sympathy.
