HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lucille Simpson of
4Heyworth as she celebrates both her 100th birthday and her 49th
5year as an Avon representative; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson was born on July 7, 1913, in Macon
7County to Frank and Bess Marsh Westerman; she married Lockwood
8Simpson on July 15, 1933, and they had 2 children, Nancy and
9Richard; they settled in Heyworth in 1958 to be closer to their
10farmland; she has 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4
11great-great-grandchildren; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson's Avon career began in 1964 when
13she was asked to take over for the retiring Heyworth area
14representative, Doris Perry; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson's favorite part of her time with
16Avon is the friendships created over the years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The greatest testament to Lucille Simpson's
18successful career with Avon is the Miss Albee dolls she has
19earned; the dolls are earned when a representative sells
20$10,000 worth of products in a year; she has received a doll
21every year since the programs initiation in 1975; and

1    WHEREAS, A reception to celebrate Lucille Simpson's
2birthday and Avon career will be held on July 7th at the
3Heyworth Christian Church; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Lucille Simpson as she celebrates her 100th
7birthday and her 49th year as an Avon representative; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Lucille Simpson as an expression of our esteem and
11respect.
