HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lucille Simpson of Heyworth as she celebrates both her 100th birthday and her 49th year as an Avon representative; and

WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson was born on July 7, 1913, in Macon County to Frank and Bess Marsh Westerman; she married Lockwood Simpson on July 15, 1933, and they had 2 children, Nancy and Richard; they settled in Heyworth in 1958 to be closer to their farmland; she has 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson's Avon career began in 1964 when she was asked to take over for the retiring Heyworth area representative, Doris Perry; and

WHEREAS, Lucille Simpson's favorite part of her time with Avon is the friendships created over the years; and

WHEREAS, The greatest testament to Lucille Simpson's successful career with Avon is the Miss Albee dolls she has earned; the dolls are earned when a representative sells $10,000 worth of products in a year; she has received a doll every year since the programs initiation in 1975; and

WHEREAS, A reception to celebrate Lucille Simpson's birthday and Avon career will be held on July 7th at the Heyworth Christian Church; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lucille Simpson as she celebrates her 100th birthday and her 49th year as an Avon representative; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lucille Simpson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
