HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dan Edward Bluthardt; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt was born on April 16, 1965, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Edward Earl Jr. and Diane Rose (Latoria) Bluthardt; he was raised in Schiller Park; in 1983, he graduated from East Leyden High School, where he played football and enjoyed playing in a rock band; he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1987, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta; he married Carrie Larsen on May 13, 1995; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt worked for many years in State government and had been serving as a lobbyist the last few years of his career; he worked for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources from 1988 to 1991 and then served as policy coordinator and analyst for the Illinois House Republican Leaders's Office from 1991 to 1995; from 1999 until December 2003 he worked as director of the Legislative Affairs Section and then as assistant to the director for Marketing Administration within the Department of Professional Regulation; he was the deputy director for the Licensing & Testing Division at the Department of Professional Regulation from December 2003 to June 2004 and served as the director of the Division of Professional Regulation for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation from July 2004 to March 2010; from 1993 to 1995, he was vice-president and co-owner of Stuff for Success Inc. in Franklin Park; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt followed in the footprints of his grandfather, former State Rep. Edward E. Bluthardt Sr. and entered politics; he served as precinct committeeman in Leyden Township for many years and was president of the Leyden Township Republican Organization for a number of years; he also was elected precinct committeeman in Algonquin Township; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt enjoyed boating, fishing, following the Chicago Cubs, and having cocktails with friends; he liked to take his family on trips to Eagle River, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt is survived by his children Rocco and Amanda; his wife, Carrie; his cousins, Chris and Todd Itrich; his brother, Brent; and many lifelong friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dan Bluthardt, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented the family of Dan Bluthardt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
