HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jerome
4John "Jerry" Reding of Aurora, who passed away on March 19,
52013; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was born on April 10, 1925, in
7Aurora to Joseph and Margaret Reding; he attended St. Theresa
8Grade School and was a graduate of Marmion Military Academy; he
9served his country during World War II as a Navy Seabee; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding worked as an electrician for the
11Burlington Northern Railroad and the IBEW Local 461; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was a life member of 67 years and
13once commander of the Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post 84
14and one of the founders of the American Legion Post 84 Band,
15playing the alto saxophone; he served as commander of the
16American Legion Band Color Guard; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding enjoyed playing football for the
18Aurora Clipper semi-pro team and attending local sporting
19events; he was a member of St. Rita Cascia Church, the Knights
20of Columbus, the Moose, the VFW, AMVETS, and the Fox Valley
21Veterans Retiree Breakfast Club; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was preceded in death by his
2granddaughter, Andrea Yvonne Saltijeral; his parents; his
3sisters, Catherine Kramer and Annette Richmond; and his nephew,
4Glenn Richmond; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerome Reding is survived by his daughter, Shelly
6(Frank) Saltijeral; his grandchildren, Clayton (Cherri)
7Saltijeral and Kyle (Sarah) Saltijeral; his
8great-grandchildren, Chloe, Beckett, Peyton, and Andrew; his
9nephews, Greg Kramer and Larry Richmond; his nieces, Cindy
10White and Charlene Pietrobon; and the family of Francisco and
11Apolonia Saltijeral; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of Jerome Reding, and we extend our
15sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jerome Reding as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
