HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Ronald A. Oppedisano on the occasion of his retirement after many years of service to the people of Norridge; and

WHEREAS, Ronald A. Oppedisano moved to Norridge in 1961 and graduated from Divine Savior School with the class of 1969; and

WHEREAS, In 1975, at the age of 19, Ronald Oppedisano became the youngest person ever to be licensed by the State of Illinois for real estate sales; and

WHEREAS, In 1991, Ronald Oppedisano was appointed by Mayor Joseph Sieb to serve as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Norridge; and

WHEREAS, In 1998, Ronald Oppedisano was appointed Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Norridge; that same year, he was appointed to Village Trustee, a position which he was elected to in 1999, 2003, and 2007; and

WHEREAS, As Village Trustee, Ronald Oppedisano served as the Chairman of the Streets, Sidewalks, Alleys, and Information Technology Committees; he also served as a member of the Law and Ordinance and Village Properties/Economic Development Committees; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano led the way for the formulation of a Master Plan for Norridge and served as a member of the Emergency Telephone System Board; and

WHEREAS, In 2009, Ronald Oppedisano was elected as Norridge Village President following the death of his friend and Village President, Earl J. Field; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano has volunteered countless hours as a coach in various Norridge Youth Activities sports programs and with the Ridgewood High School Parents club; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano is the owner of a real estate appraisal and consulting firm, having been awarded the MAI, CAE, and CIAO professional appraisal designations; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano and his wife, Linda, have raised 3 children, Tina, Lisa, and Vince, in the Village of Norridge; all of them have been model citizens and pillars of the community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ronald A. Oppedisano on the occasion of his retirement, thank him for his many years of honorable and dedicated service to the Village of Norridge and to the State of Illinois, and wish him success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ronald Oppedisano as an expression of our esteem and respect.
