HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Florence (nee Gorman) Schaeffer on the occasion of her 90th birthday on June 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer met her childhood sweetheart on the playground of Lloyd School and roller-skated her way into Joseph Schaeffer's heart for more than 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer has 5 children, JoAnne, Brad, Karen, Liz, and Scot and 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer has been a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church for more than 60 years; she is an active member of the Friendship Club and has become quite a social gambler in her golden years; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer has been employed as the chief cook and bottle washer and babysitter extraordinaire of Parker Avenue for more than 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer has always been an avid supporter of many sports, but her heart will always remain true blue to the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Florence Schaeffer will be surprised when celebrating her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we are pleased to congratulate Florence Schaeffer on the occasion of her 90th birthday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Florence Schaeffer as an expression of our esteem and respect.
