HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of W. Ronald Dietz; and

WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz earned his master's degree in business administration from Stanford University; and

WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz was the retired president and chief executive officer of the W.M. Putnam Company in Bloomington; he also served as director of the Capital One Financial Corporation, where he served as chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee; he previously served as chief executive officer of Anthem Financial and American Savings Bank of New York in Indianapolis, Indiana; he also served at Citibank as Senior Vice President and Division Executive in charge of operations in the Caribbean and northern South America; and

WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz served as Chairman of the Board of the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville since 2010; he also served on the Board of the Indianapolis Children's Museum; and

WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz is survived by his wife, Carol Gies Dietz; his son, David Dietz; his stepchildren, Jeff and Cindy Gies; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Matthew Gies and Maureen and Thomas Strasser; and his brother, Bradley Dietz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of W. Ronald Dietz; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of W. Ronald Dietz as an expression of our sympathy.
