HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of W. Ronald
4Dietz; and
 
5    WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz served his country with
6distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the
7Vietnam War; and
 
8    WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz earned his master's degree in
9business administration from Stanford University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz was the retired president and
11chief executive officer of the W.M. Putnam Company in
12Bloomington; he also served as director of the Capital One
13Financial Corporation, where he served as chairman of the Audit
14and Risk Committee; he previously served as chief executive
15officer of Anthem Financial and American Savings Bank of New
16York in Indianapolis, Indiana; he also served at Citibank as
17Senior Vice President and Division Executive in charge of
18operations in the Caribbean and northern South America; and
 
19    WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz served as Chairman of the Board of
20the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville since 2010; he also
21served on the Board of the Indianapolis Children's Museum; and

1    WHEREAS, W. Ronald Dietz is survived by his wife, Carol
2Gies Dietz; his son, David Dietz; his stepchildren, Jeff and
3Cindy Gies; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Matthew Gies and
4Maureen and Thomas Strasser; and his brother, Bradley Dietz;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of W.
9Ronald Dietz; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of W. Ronald Dietz as an expression of
12our sympathy.
