HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Illini Central Cougars boys basketball team for winning the IHSA Class 1A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Illini Central Cougars defeated Madison High School 55-44 to achieve victory in the IHSA Class 1A State Championship; the team ended their season with a phenomenal 28-5 record; and

WHEREAS, The Illini Central Cougars set a school record for longest winning streak at 17 games and tied a school record for most victories in a season at 28; their victory also marks the school's first State Championship in any sport or activity; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball team are Cole Allen, Cody Curry, Jordan Lynn, Derrick Himmel, Justin Luft, Jesse Thompson, Ean Albers, Grant Bale, Jordan Bradshaw, Jared Entwistle, Noah Kirby, Connor Martin, Duncan McClure, Willie Neuendorf, and Justin Onken; the team's head coach is John Giesler and the assistant coaches are Colby Bunner, Scott Francis, and Tony Wherley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Illini Central Cougars boys basketball team for winning the IHSA Class 1A State Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Illini Central Cougars boys basketball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
