HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders girls basketball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA 2013 Class 3A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders defeated Vernon Hills 62-45 to win the IHSA Class 3A Championship game at the ISU Redbird Arena in Normal on March 2, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders finished their season with a perfect 30-0 record, the second such time in the program's history; the team has gone 124-5 over the past four years and has won 53 consecutive games and 79 straight against in-state competition; and

WHEREAS, This victory marks the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders' third straight State Championship, the culmination of a three-peat; the Lady Raiders are only the fourth team in IHSA history to three-peat; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders are Shelby Ulrich, Kristen Gengenbacher, Olivia Hyer, Abby Grawe, Ericka Obert, Kassidy Gengenbacher, Quenna Keating, Jordan Frericks, Maggie Schwartz, Mary Beth Hugenberg, Sarah Arnold, Cassidy Foley, and Hannah Marcolla; the student assistants are Alyx Wilkins, Ann Marie Rhatigan-Meyer, Mackenzie Doane, Shelby Connell, Ashley Wensing, Sarah Lewis, and Danielle Reed; the trainer is Jay Zanger; the bookkeepers are Beth Cash, Rob Arnold, Ray Weast, and Tracy Orne; the statistics keeper is Frank Cash; the team's head coach is Eric Orne and the assistant coaches are Kevin Meyer and Mark Longo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders girls basketball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA 2013 Class 3A State Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders girls basketball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
