HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Robert Skidmore on the
4occasion of his retirement from the Lake County Treasurer's
5Office after 30 years of service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore was born and raised in Highland
7Park and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971
8with a bachelor's degree in education; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore began his career with the Lake
10County Treasurer's Office in 1984 as an assistant cashier; he
11was first elected Lake County Treasurer in 1998 and re-elected
12in 2002, 2006, and 2010, serving for 16 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Robert Skidmore, the Lake
14County Treasurer's Office implemented 2 major computer system
15upgrades that have improved efficiency in the tax collection
16and distribution processes; the office also launched a
17user-friendly informative website and online bill payment
18system; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In 2010, Robert Skidmore was awarded a Bronze
20Level Certified County Officials Certificate for his
21demonstration of professionalism and dedication to enhancing

1his knowledge through advanced education; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore's dedication to Lake County
3extends beyond his duties as Treasurer; he has been an active
4supporter of several organizations and causes including: the
5Boys & Girls Club of Lake County, Catholic Charities USA, the
6United Way of Lake County, the Lake County Counsel for Seniors,
7the Mano a Mano Family Resource Center, the Waukegan Township
8Staben House, A Safe Place, the South Lake County Community
9Emergency Response Team, and Kids Hope; and
10
11    WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore currently resides in Mundelein
12with his wife, Ingrid, and their 3 daughters; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore's retirement will be official on
14November 30, 2014; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we congratulate Robert Skidmore on his retirement from the Lake
18County Treasurer's Office after 30 years of service and wish
19him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to Robert Skidmore as an expression of our esteem and
22respect.
