HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carol
4Mitchell of Tamms, who passed away on December 7, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Mitchell was born on March 6, 1949, in
6Cairo, Illinois; she was the daughter of George and Mary Croft;
7she married Warren "Buddy" Mitchell on January 6, 1969; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carol Mitchell served as Mayor of Tamms for 3
9terms up until the week before her passing; she served as a
10rural mail carrier serving the Tamms area for 31 years; she and
11her husband also owned and operated Mitchells' Barbeque and
12Catering; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Carol Mitchell was raised in Evangelical and
14Reformed Church in Tamms and was attending Villa Ridge Union
15Church at the time of her passing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carol Mitchell was preceded in death by her
17parents; her brother, George Croft; and her sister, Anne
18Blackward; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Carol Mitchell is survived by her husband, Buddy;
20her daughter, Tricia Mitchell Heppe (Michael); her son, David

1Warren Mitchell (Pam); her grandchildren, Lucus
2Mitchell-McNulty, Megan McNulty, Brittney Mitchell, Alexandria
3Mitchell, David Mitchell Jr., and Nicolas Mitchell; her
4great-grandson, Tyson Webb; her stepfather, Charles "Chick"
5Hood; her sister, Sherry (Bruce) Vick; her brother, Dennis
6(Dianna) Croft; her brother-in-law, Herman Blackward; her
7nieces and nephews, Renee Brown, Michael Shannon Croft, Tim
8Vick, Todd Vick, Angie Arnold, Liz Melton, Jeff Blackward, and
9Nathan Blackward; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Reagan,
10Chris, Caleb, Hayden, Emma, Jeremiah, Mary, Catherine,
11Jessica, Austin, and Alexis; and her many other loved ones and
12friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of
16Carol Mitchell; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Carol Mitchell as an expression of
19our sympathy.
