HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Naomi Walters-Lenoci on having the reserve in Hanover Township, formerly known as "Lacy Park", renamed in her honor as the "Naomi Walters-Lenoci Reserve"; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci moved to Streamwood in 1972; she joined the Streamwood Woman's Club and was a founding member of the Streamwood Historical Society and the Poplar Creek Social Club; in 1981, she was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Junior Women's Clubs of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci was a member of the Streamwood Park District Board for 22 years and is the district's longest-serving commissioner; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci's service to the community has been recognized with the dedication of a gazebo in her honor at the Streamwood Park District's Hoosier Grove Park, and she has received the Supervisor's Community Service Award as Senior Volunteer of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci continues to serve the community, sitting on the Hanover Township Senior Citizens Services Committee and serving as the committee's chair; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci has demonstrated a passion and dedication for the preservation of open spaces within the community, ensuring that her motto, "parks provide the smiles", holds true; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci is a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and public servant; her husband is Joseph Lenoci; they have 2 daughters, Kelly Peters and Sue Price, and 4 grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls; and

WHEREAS, The dedication for the "Naomi Walters-Lenoci Reserve" will be held October 18, 2014 in Streamwood; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Naomi Walters-Lenoci on having the reserve in Hanover Township, formerly known as "Lacy Park", renamed as the "Naomi Walters-Lenoci Reserve" in her honor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Naomi Walters-Lenoci as an expression of our esteem and respect.
