HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Cleo Dailey, Sr. of Peoria, who passed away on June 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. was born on April 20, 1929 in Wynne, Arkansas; his parents were Tad and Willie B. (nee Mosley) Dailey; he married Emma L. Davis on December 25, 1954 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. served his country as a member of the United States Army in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. worked at Armour Packing for 20 years; he later worked at Caterpillar Inc. until his retirement after 30 years of service in 1992; he also served as a barber for the people in his neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending his garden every year; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and a grandson; and

WHEREAS, Cleo Dailey, Sr. is survived by his children, Edward Bell, Rev. Cleo Dailey, Jr., Michael R. (Brenda) Dailey, Deborah J. (Curtis) Easley, Sharon Humbles, Tammy (Tommy) Harris, Curtis Dailey, Calvin (Gina) Dailey, Marla (Glenn) Randle, Shirril Lawson, and Sherry Dailey; 4 siblings, Charlene Williams, Johnny Dailey, Doris Jones, and Preston Lee (Ruthie) Hamer; 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Cleo Dailey, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cleo Dailey, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
