HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Alleman Catholic High School softball team, the Pioneers, on winning the 2014 Illinois High School Association Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Pioneers compiled a record of 32 wins and 6 losses on their way to claiming the championship with a 9-3 victory over Teutopolis High School on June 7, 2014 at the Eastside Center complex in East Peoria; and

WHEREAS, This is the Pioneers' 6th State softball championship title, and the first since 1998; it is the first State championship for Mike Ebner in his 8 seasons as their head coach; the Pioneers have placed at State 9 times, with Coach Ebner being part of the previous 5, starting as assistant coach in 1991; and

WHEREAS, The Pioneers are Emily Hoffman, Lexi Ferrari, Maris Boelens, Dakota Stout, Anna Wetherell, Ashley Tholl, Shannon Cusack, Molly Ethington, Abby Thompson, Mackenzie Sanchez, Julia Thomer, Molly Chambers, Marissa Terronez, Caitlin DeWitte, and Isabelle Anderson; their assistant coaches are Tom Crowder and Jay Hatch; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Alleman Catholic High School softball team, the Pioneers, on winning the 2014 Illinois High School Association Class 2A State Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Pioneers as an expression of our esteem and respect.
