HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Catherine Finger, Grayslake Community High School District 127 Superintendent, on being named as the 2014 Lake County Superintendent of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Finger has been superintendent of Grayslake High School District 127 since 2005; she previously served as associate superintendent in District 128; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Finger began her career as a foreign language teacher in the Chicago public schools and taught at Evanston Township High School; she spent 5 years in Naperville District 203 as a curriculum director and high school administrator and served as a middle school principal in the North Shore School District 112 for 3 years; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Finger earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and her master's and doctoral degrees from National Louis University; she currently teaches in the doctoral program at Concordia University; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Finger was presented with the award and honored on May 21, 2014 at the Lake County Superintendent's meeting in Gurnee; she will be Lake County's nominee for the Illinois State Superintendent of the Year Award presented by the Illinois Association of School Administrators at its annual November meeting in Chicago; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Catherine Finger, Grayslake Community High School District 127 Superintendent, on being named as 2014 Lake County Superintendent of the Year; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Catherine Finger as an expression of our esteem and respect.
