HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Catherine Finger,
4Grayslake Community High School District 127 Superintendent,
5on being named as the 2014 Lake County Superintendent of the
6Year; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Catherine Finger has been superintendent of
8Grayslake High School District 127 since 2005; she previously
9served as associate superintendent in District 128; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Catherine Finger began her career as a foreign
11language teacher in the Chicago public schools and taught at
12Evanston Township High School; she spent 5 years in Naperville
13District 203 as a curriculum director and high school
14administrator and served as a middle school principal in the
15North Shore School District 112 for 3 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Catherine Finger earned her bachelor's degree
17from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and her
18master's and doctoral degrees from National Louis University;
19she currently teaches in the doctoral program at Concordia
20University; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Catherine Finger was presented with the award and

1honored on May 21, 2014 at the Lake County Superintendent's
2meeting in Gurnee; she will be Lake County's nominee for the
3Illinois State Superintendent of the Year Award presented by
4the Illinois Association of School Administrators at its annual
5November meeting in Chicago; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we congratulate Catherine Finger, Grayslake Community High
9School District 127 Superintendent, on being named as 2014 Lake
10County Superintendent of the Year; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Catherine Finger as an expression of our esteem
13and respect.
