HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Vern Case, Jr. on the occasion of his retirement from the Streamwood Fire Department after nearly 24 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. joined the Streamwood Fire Department on April 4, 1990 and officially retired on February 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. is a State-certified paramedic with over 20 years of service; he is also State-certified as a Firefighter II, Firefighter III, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and Fire Officer 1; and

WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. has been involved in the Juvenile Fire Setters program, in public education as the fire department's puppeteer, as the department quarter master, and with the SCBA maintenance division; he served as treasurer of the Professional Firefighters Association Local 3022 and is a member of the Illinois Association of Fire Fighters State Honor Guard; and

WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, have a son, Vern III and 3 daughters, Renee, Courtney, and Valerie; he enjoys camping and fishing; and

WHEREAS, A celebration will be held honoring Vern Case, Jr. on May 23, 2014 at the Fireside Ale House in Streamwood; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Vern Case, Jr. on his retirement from the Streamwood Fire Department after nearly 24 years of service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Vern Case, Jr. as an expression of our esteem and respect.
