HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mark Ziemnik on the occasion of his retirement as Division Chief with the Naperville Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ziemnik has served with the Naperville Fire Department for over 33 years; he started as a Paid on Call on July 9, 1980; he became a Civilian Paramedic on May 7, 1985 and a Firefighter/Paramedic on December 1, 1986; he was promoted to Lieutenant on January 19, 1992, to Captain on May 1, 1988, and to Division Chief on January 24, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ziemnik was named the Exchange Club of Naperville Firefighter of the Year in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ziemnik's family has a long history of fire service in the Chicago area and firefighting is in his blood; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ziemnik resides in Oswego with his wife, Laurie, and they have 4 children, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Katie, and Andrew; and

WHEREAS, A retirement celebration in Mark Ziemnik's honor will be held on May 2, 2014 at the Naperville Fire Department's Fire Station 7 - Apparatus Bays; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mark Ziemnik on the occasion of his retirement as Division Chief with the Naperville Fire Department and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mark Ziemnik as an expression of our esteem and respect.
