SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
215 ILCS 121/20

    Amends the Navigator Certification Act. Provides that a navigator applying for the renewal of a certificate must undergo a Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history record check before being recertified.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Navigator Certification Act is amended by
5changing Section 20 as follows:
 
6    (215 ILCS 121/20)
7    Sec. 20. Certificate renewal.
8    (a) An individual navigator entity certificate shall be
9valid for one year.
10    (b) A navigator may file an application for renewal of a
11certificate in a method prescribed by the Director. Any
12navigator who fails to timely file for certificate renewal
13shall be charged a late fee in an amount prescribed by the
14Director.
15    (c) Prior to the filing date for application for renewal of
16a certificate, an individual navigator shall comply with
17ongoing training and continuing education requirements
18established by the Director. The navigator shall file with the
19Director, by a method prescribed by the Director, satisfactory
20certification of completion of the continuing education
21requirements. Any failure to fulfill the ongoing training and
22continuing education requirements shall result in the
23expiration of the certificate.
