SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
70 ILCS 405/22.02a  from Ch. 5, par. 127.2a

    Amends the Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act. Provides that a person who petitions a municipality or county agency for relief from a zoning ordinance may, at his or her discretion, furnish a copy to the Soil and Water Conservation District to obtain its written written opinion concerning the matter. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act is
5amended by changing Section 22.02a as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 405/22.02a)  (from Ch. 5, par. 127.2a)
7    Sec. 22.02a.
8    The Soil and Water Conservation District shall make all
9natural resource information available to the appropriate
10county agency or municipality in the promulgation of zoning
11ordinances or variances. Any person who petitions any
12municipality or county agency in the district for variation,
13amendment, or other relief from that municipality's or county's
14zoning ordinance or who proposes to subdivide vacant or
15agricultural lands therein may, at his or her discretion, shall
16furnish a copy of such petition or proposal to the Soil and
17Water Conservation District. If a petition or proposal is
18provided, the The Soil and Water Conservation District shall be
19given not more than 30 days from the time of receipt of the
20petition or proposal to issue its written opinion concerning
21the petition or proposal and submit the same to the appropriate
22county agency or municipality for further action.

1    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2becoming law.
