| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Gary Lynn Heggy of Golconda, who | 4 | | passed away on February 7, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary Heggy was born to Leo and Geraldine Duncan | 6 | | Heggy in Springfield on July 8, 1947; he graduated from | 7 | | Springfield College in Springfield; he married Gloria | 8 | | (Griffin) Elliott on September 10, 1993; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Gary Heggy served as a senior public service | 10 | | administrator for the State of Illinois, and he retired after | 11 | | 41 years of service; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Gary Heggy represented the Illinois Department of | 13 | | Human Services at the National Association of Reimbursement | 14 | | Officers (NARO) conferences for several years, and he held | 15 | | several offices with that organization, including president; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Gary Heggy enjoyed spending time with his family, | 18 | | playing golf and cards, traveling, and cheering on the San | 19 | | Francisco 49ers football team and the Fighting Illini | 20 | | basketball team; he also took great pleasure in horseback | 21 | | riding to scenic spots, landscaping, and hanging out with his |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Gary Heggy is survived by his wife, Gloria; his | 3 | | daughter, Carrie (Heggy) Stevenson; his stepsons, Rich Roper | 4 | | and Aaron Elliott; his brother, Bill Heggy; his 10 | 5 | | grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren; therefore, be | 6 | | it
