SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel "Dan" William Dismer of Coal Valley, who passed away on December 16, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Dan Dismer was born to Harold and Verlee 'Lee' Dismer in Davenport, Iowa in April of 1948; he attended Rock Island High School where he earned a place at the Illinois State Finals for swimming; he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was stationed at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California; he married Virginia "Ginny" in 1973; and

WHEREAS, Dan Dismer worked in the energy industry and as an electrician before starting a long-term career at the Rock Island Arsenal as a machinist; he retired in 2004; and

WHEREAS, In retirement, Dan Dismer enjoyed staying home, researching family genealogy, working with computers, taking care of his two muscle cars, and listening to country music; and

WHEREAS, Dan Dismer was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Janice Dismer; and

WHEREAS, Dan Dismer is survived by his wife, Ginny; his children, Sheila (Jim) Mountain, Jamie (Casey) Brodersen, and Derek Dismer; his grandchildren, Ellie (Jake) Wietholder, Spencer Haynie, Avery Mountain, Hans Brodersen, Finn Brodersen, and Kieli Seams; his great-grandchildren, Bryson and Hadley; his brother, Jeff (Martha) Dismer, and his cousin, Kathy Lennon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Daniel "Dan" William Dismer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dan Dismer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
