SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Daniel "Dan" William Dismer of Coal
4Valley, who passed away on December 16, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Dismer was born to Harold and Verlee 'Lee'
6Dismer in Davenport, Iowa in April of 1948; he attended Rock
7Island High School where he earned a place at the Illinois
8State Finals for swimming; he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968
9and was stationed at Naval Air Station North Island in San
10Diego, California; he married Virginia "Ginny" in 1973; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dan Dismer worked in the energy industry and as
12an electrician before starting a long-term career at the Rock
13Island Arsenal as a machinist; he retired in 2004; and
 
14    WHEREAS, In retirement, Dan Dismer enjoyed staying home,
15researching family genealogy, working with computers, taking
16care of his two muscle cars, and listening to country music;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dan Dismer was preceded in death by his parents,
19and his sister, Janice Dismer; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dan Dismer is survived by his wife, Ginny; his

1children, Sheila (Jim) Mountain, Jamie (Casey) Brodersen, and
2Derek Dismer; his grandchildren, Ellie (Jake) Wietholder,
3Spencer Haynie, Avery Mountain, Hans Brodersen, Finn
4Brodersen, and Kieli Seams; his great-grandchildren, Bryson
5and Hadley; his brother, Jeff (Martha) Dismer, and his cousin,
6Kathy Lennon; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Daniel "Dan" William Dismer and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dan Dismer as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
