SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jacqueline "Jackie" K. Tabaka of Ivesdale, who passed away on September 2, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Tabaka was born to James and Edith Nelson Nicholson in Evansville, Indiana on October 27, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Tabaka was a proud member of the Bement and Ivesdale communities and was heavily involved in numerous school and church programs while her children were young; she also served many years as secretary for St. Joseph's Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, In 1979, Jackie Tabaka began her career in the oil business with Hillard Oil in Ivesdale; she went to work for Illini FS in Urbana in 2007; she deeply enjoyed the work, and she kept in contact with her customers and colleagues throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Tabaka loved spoiling her six grandchildren, and she attended as many of their events as possible, from ball games to parties; she enjoyed spending time with her family in every way she could, and her family's Illinois football tailgates were some of the most cherished events of each year; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Tabaka was preceded in death by her parents and Charles M. Tabaka; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Tabaka is survived by her three children; Chuck (Jennifer) Tabaka II, Ryan (Lisa) Tabaka, and Elizabeth (Clark) Foran; her six grandchildren, Hannah, Colin, Crosby, Madison, Carson, and Charlee; her sister, Carolyn Jo (Kevin) Nicholson; and her brother, James Nicholson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" K. Tabaka and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jackie Tabaka as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
