SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles Lee Curry of Moline, who passed away on May 6, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Charles Curry was born in Mexico, Missouri to Harold and Laveta Goe Curry on December 30, 1945; he graduated from Mexico High School; he received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri; he earned his Master of Arts in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California; he married Mary Lynn Chilton in Florissant, Missouri on March 29, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Charles Curry served in the U.S. Air Force until he retired in 1989; he then worked at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and he retired in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Charles Curry was a member of First Congregational Church and a longtime community volunteer at World Relief; he was a member of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club and had a lifetime of cycling friendships and experiences; he was a passionate train enthusiast; he loved baseball and basketball; and

WHEREAS, Charles Curry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ellen; and

WHEREAS, Charles Curry is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Mary; his daughter, Anna Curry (Joshua Wick); and his granddaughter, Jane Callender; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles Lee Curry and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Curry as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
