SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy Jane Ingram Moore, who passed away on February 2, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore was born to Richard Ingram and Gladys Pankey Ingram in Lincoln on February 2, 1953; she graduated from Elkhart High School and was homecoming queen in 1971; while in school, she worked as a waitress for Martha Bair in the evenings, on the weekends, and during the summer; she married Terry Moore in Sherman on October 7, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore retired from the State of Illinois in 2004; she also worked at the bank in Elkhart and at the Elkhart Post Office; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore served as a Village of Elkhart Board Trustee; while on the board, she served as chairwoman of the Village Parks Committee for many years and was passionate about her responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore was a lifetime member of Elkhart Methodist Church and served on the board of directors as secretary and treasurer and was in charge of the communion ministry; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore was an avid softball player who played on a ladies league well into her 50s and coached for several years; above all else, she loved her family; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father; her step-father, Dave Guinn; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; and her several aunts and uncles; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Moore is survived by her husband, Terry; her children, Tyler Moore, Tara (Aaron) Larson, and Travis (Sarah) Moore; her grandchildren, Briar, Trey, Tinlee, and Blane; her mother, Gladys Guinn; her brother, Rick Ingram; her aunts, Pat Pankey and Nancy Pankey; her uncle, Fritz Werkman; and her many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nancy Jane Ingram Moore and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nancy Moore as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
