SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David "Dave" E. Johnson of Linn Creek, Missouri, who passed away on February 25, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Dave Johnson was born to Gunnar and Margaret Johnson in Moline on September 26, 1947; he grew up in Moline and graduated from Moline High School in 1965; after high school, he served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; he married Karen True in Moline in 1969; and

WHEREAS, Dave Johnson worked for Illinois Bell/AT&T as a communications technician; he retired in 1999 after 30 years of employment; and

WHEREAS, After retirement and a move to the Lake of the Ozarks, Dave Johnson became a member of the Osage Beach Missouri Elks Lodge; and

WHEREAS, Dave Johnson enjoyed traveling with his wife; they visited 48 U.S. states, all Canadian provinces, and more than 30 countries; they owned a country home in Taylor Ridge, where they kept their horses and participated in trail rides; and

WHEREAS, Dave Johnson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen; his brother, Dennis (Cheryl); and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of David "Dave" E. Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dave Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
