| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William B. "Bill" Johnson of Joliet, who | 4 | | passed away on May 1, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson was born in St. Charles to Lois and | 6 | | Carl Johnson on February 4, 1945; he graduated from Kaneland | 7 | | High School in 1963; he earned his bachelor of science degree | 8 | | at the University of Illinois in 1967 and his master of science | 9 | | degree in 1968; he was also a Bronze Tablet recipient at the | 10 | | University of Illinois; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson recently celebrated his 50th year as | 12 | | an Agriculture Instructor at Joliet Junior College; he began | 13 | | his career at Joliet Junior College on September 1, 1968 and | 14 | | was hired by Elmer Rowley, the college's first president; he | 15 | | was a fierce advocate for agricultural education, and his | 16 | | loyalty and dedication to the agriculture program at Joliet | 17 | | Junior College, and the agriculture community, was unmatched; | 18 | | he was incredibly forward thinking about how to draw young | 19 | | people into Agriculture education; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson was a leader, not only in the | 21 | | classroom, but also in the community; he served on the Joliet | 22 | | Junior College Foundation Board since 2010; he touched many |

| 1 | | lives throughout his career, often spanning three generations | 2 | | of a single family; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson was preceded in death by his father; | 4 | | and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson is survived by his mother; his | 6 | | brother, David C. (Linda) Johnson; his niece, Kimberly A. | 7 | | (Chad) Walter; his nephew, Dr. Michael D. (Barbara) Johnson; | 8 | | his great-nieces, Meredith and Caroline Johnson; and his | 9 | | great-nephew, Leo Johnson; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | William B. "Bill" Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
