SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Arthur William Konneker of Carlinville, who passed away on November 16, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Konneker was born on May 9, 1934, to William Otto and Opal Konneker (Leefers) in Shaws Point Township; he graduated from Carlinville High School in 1952 and served in both the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard; he married Jana Ruth Early on August 18, 1956, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Konneker was a grain and livestock farmer in the Carlinville area, retiring in 1986; he worked for M&M service company for several years; he was a member of Elks Lodge #1412, enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and spending time at Otter Lake; and he was strongly devoted to his wife and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Konneker was preceded in death by his wife, Jana; his parents, William Otto and Opal Konneker; and his brother, Marvin Konneker; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Konneker is survived by his daughters, Kim Bruzek (Steve) and Elizabeth Sandino (Steve); his son, Scott Konneker (Brenda); his grandsons, Matthew Konneker, Andrew Sandino, Elliot Bruzek, and Alexander Bruzek; his granddaughters, Ashley Wofford (Jack) and Alyse Sandino; his great-grandchildren, Christian and Kyra Konneker and Jocelyn Wofford; his sister, Irene Tindle; his brothers, Don (Betty) Konneker and Pete Konneker (Rachel); and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Arthur Konneker, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arthur Konneker as a symbol of our deepest sympathy.
