SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Irene C. Ricca of Morton, formerly of Bartonville, who passed away on June 8, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born April 17, 1929, in Peoria to Lawrence P. and Lovdy (Miller) Meyer; she married John S. Ricca in Peoria on August 20, 1949; and

WHEREAS, She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; and

WHEREAS, She will be remembered for her sweet smile and her pleasant disposition; she attended Holy Family Church and Blessed Sacrament Church; she was a former member of the St. John's and St. Anthony's Altar and Rosary Society; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sisters, Marie Faley, Helen Day, and JoAnn Newcomer; and

WHEREAS, Irene Ricca is survived by her children, Dennis (Judy) Ricca, George (Pat) Ricca, Ginny (Don) Sorensen, Leon (Patty) Ricca, Sue (Larry) Herring, Ed Ricca, Kathy (Scott) Tolson, Sharry (Mike) Mohr, and Ken (Cheryl) Ricca; her 23 grandchildren; and her 8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Irene Ricca; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Irene Ricca as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
