SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. "Sonny" Albertine of
4Carlinville, who passed away on May 24, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was born on September 21, 1925,
6in Carlinville; his parents were Pete and Josephine (Ossola)
7Albertine; he married Norma E. Watters on May 27, 1954 in
8Springfield; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a graduate of Carlinville
10High School; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine served his country as a member of
12the United States Navy during World War II in the South
13Pacific; he was the recipient of 2 Battle Stars for his service
14during the war; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a plumber by trade and was
16employed by the Illinois Secretary of State; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine served as a precinct
18committeeman for the Democratic Party and served as the
19organization's chairman for several years; he also served as a
20Carlinville City Alderman for over 39 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a member of Ss. Mary and
2Joseph Catholic Church; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine enjoyed watching Illini sports
4and the Green Bay Packers; he was an avid bowler in his younger
5years; he also attended all of his granddaughter's activities
6and sporting events and was their biggest fan; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was preceded in death by his
8wife, Norma; his parents; his sister, Sylvia Vozel; and his
9nephew; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Albertine is survived by his son, Lynden R.
11"Alby" Albertine (Jill); his grandchildren, Madeline and Lydia
12Albertine, and his 3 step-children; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15his family and friends, the passing of Robert L. "Sonny"
16Albertine; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Robert Albertine as an expression of
19our sympathy.
