SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara B. Hasse of Alton, who passed
4away on April 27, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born April 3, 1946, in Fort Benning,
6Georgia, the daughter of Edward B. and Evelyn (Winchell) Blair
7Sr.; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She was a registered nurse for Touchpoint Center
9in St. Louis, Missouri; she graduated from Marquette High
10School in 1964; she was also a graduate of the St. Joseph
11School of Nursing in 1967, the St. Louis School University
12School of Nursing in 1977, and Washington University in St.
13Louis with a Master's Degree in Education in 1985; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She served her country in the Army Nurse Corps
15from 1966 until 1969, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant; she
16was stationed at the 8th Army Field Hospital in Nha Trang,
17South Vietnam, all of 1968; and
 
18    WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
19Alton; she was an avid sports fan and loved watching the
20Explorers, Billikens, and Cardinals; and

1    WHEREAS, Her parents preceded her in death; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Barbara Hasse is survived by her sons and a
3daughter-in-law, Rob and Beth Hasse and Blair Hasse; her
4grandchildren, Sarah K. Hasse and Stephen J. Hasse; her
5brothers and their spouses, Dr. Edward B. and Barb Blair and
6Steven L. and Nancy Blair; and her nieces and a nephew, Rachel
7Blair, Lindsay Marsh, Regan Blair, Lauren Voelker, and Steven
8Blair Jr.; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Barbara Hasse; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Barbara Hasse as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
