SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Ellen Henehan of Barrington, who
4passed away on February 6, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan was born on October 1, 1938, in
6Detroit, Michigan; her parents were Martin and Loretta Burg;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan graduated from Mundelein
9College and Northwestern University, where she earned her
10master's degree in music education; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan taught music in junior high
12schools in Harvey and West Chicago and taught piano lessons in
13her home for 25 years; she also served as a church organist at
14St. Anne's Parish in Barrington for 38 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan was a past president of the
16American Association of University Women and the Friends of the
17Barrington Area Library; she was also active with the
18Barrington Women's Club, the St. Anne's Women's Club, the
19American Guild of Organists, the Barrington Chamber of
20Commerce, and the Homeowner's Association of Lake Barrington
21Shores; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan enjoyed playing tennis and golf
2with her friends in Arlington Heights, Palatine, and Lake
3Barrington Shores; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Henehan is survived by her loving
5husband of 50 years, Robert; her children, Martin (Ingrid)
6Henehan, Rosanne Henehan, and Sharon (David) Walter; her
7grandchildren, Emmet and Liam Henehan and Ashley and Dylan
8Walter; and her brother, Bill (Betty) Burg; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Mary Ellen Henehan; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mary Ellen Henehan as an expression
15of our sympathy.
