| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Allen W. Vaughn of East Galesburg, who | 4 | | passed away on January 16, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn was born on July 19, 1948, in Los | 6 | | Angeles, California; he was the son of Noyce and Lucille | 7 | | Phillips Vaughn; he married Mary L. Pigeon on September 19, | 8 | | 2003, in Galesburg; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn served with the United States Army | 10 | | from October 12, 1966, to September 21, 1969; he was the | 11 | | recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense | 12 | | Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Purple Hearts, the | 13 | | Bronze Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, 2 Overseas Bars, and | 14 | | the Sharpshooter Badge (M14); and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn was the owner and operator of | 16 | | Multi-Facets, which designed and manufactured rimless eye wear | 17 | | in Corona, California; in July of 2003, he and his wife | 18 | | purchased and became the owners and operators of the Mobil Gas | 19 | | Stations in Galesburg and Knoxville; they later owned only the | 20 | | Knoxville location; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn was a member of Harry Philblad |

| 1 | | American Legion Post 749 of Knoxville; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn was preceded in death by his brother, | 3 | | John, and his sister, Shirley; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Allen Vaughn is survived by his wife, Mary L. | 5 | | Vaughn; his son, Kevin Vaughn; his daughters, Melanie (Robert) | 6 | | Walker and Adriana (Rusty) Free; his grandchildren, Madison | 7 | | Walker, Austin Free, Joshua Vaughn, Megan Vaughn, Callie Free, | 8 | | and Reed Walker; his parents; his brother, Michael L. Vaughn; | 9 | | and his sister, Cynthia (David) Ziminskee; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 12 | | his family and friends, the passing of Allen W. Vaughn; and be | 13 | | it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Allen Vaughn as an expression of our | 16 | | sympathy.
