SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bolingbrook Police Officer Sava Basic, II of Plainfield, who passed away on January 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Sava Basic was born on January 25, 1985 in Winfield; and

WHEREAS, He was a 2003 graduate of Neuqua Valley High School; he graduated from Westwood College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice; and

WHEREAS, He was sworn in as an officer of the Bolingbrook Police Department on February 12, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He married Megan on June 29, 2007 and soon after they welcomed Brianna into their lives; and

WHEREAS, Sava Basic leaves behind his one true love, Megan (Jones) Basic, and his beautiful princess, Brianna; he was the devoted son of Joanne (Russell) and Sava Basic; he was the cherished brother of Mehi (Caty) Basic; he was the treasured son-in-law of Gary and Cindy Jones; he was the loving brother-in-law of Laura (Devin) Patel and Kristin (Chris) Knight; he was the fond uncle of Natalie Patel and Alex and Sophia Knight; he was the adored nephew of Kathy (Charlie) Krikorian, Sue (Jim) Sutphen, and Milica (Bob) Wolfgram; he was a cousin to Allie Krikorian, Tyler, Rachel, and Jake Sutphen, and Stevan and Alex Wolfgram; he was the amazing friend of Alex, Brian, Eric, Matthew, Eric, Kriss, Scottie, and many, many more; and he was the beloved grandson of Ruth (Bozidar) Sokolovic, the late Mary and Richard Russell, and the late Nikola Basic; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, friends, and community, the passing of Bolingbrook Police Officer Sava Basic; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bolingbrook Police Officer Sava Basic as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
