SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Army Sergeant Anthony
4Robert Silva of Columbia, who passed away on July 23, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva was born on January 25, 1986,
6in Inglewood, California; he is the son of Dave and Diane
7Silva; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva graduated from Columbia High
9School in 2004; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva served his country with pride
11and distinction as a member of the United States Army; he
12served with the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th
13Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort
14Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado; he had previously been
15stationed in South Korea; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva was a member of American Legion
17Post 581 and St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva was preceded in death by his
19maternal grandfather, Elmer E. Blank; his paternal
20grandfather, Fred Silva; and his uncle, Fred R. Silva; and

1    WHEREAS, Sgt. Anthony Silva is survived by his parents,
2Dave and Diane Silva; his brother, Joey Silva; his maternal
3grandmother, Evelyn (Harres) Blank; his paternal grandmother,
4Ramona Silva; his uncle, Robert L. (Mary Sue) Blank; his
5cousins, Jessica (Brent) Neumeyer and Brenna and Trent Blank;
6and his other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9his family and friends, the passing of United States Army
10Sergeant Anthony Robert Silva; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Sgt. Anthony Silva as an expression
13of our sympathy.
